SuperFile Documentation
Guides and reference for everything SuperFile ships: the public register at superfile.com, SuperSecure files that stay under your control after they leave, and SuperDRM, the licence server you can run on your own infrastructure.
#What SuperFile is
SuperFile wraps any file — PDFs, spreadsheets, presentations, images, video, even whole databases — in split-key encryption that travels inside the document. The decryption key is divided, so no single party, SuperFile included, can open a file alone. Authorization is decided when a file is opened, not when it is sent: you can see who opened it, where and when, and revoke access everywhere in one click, downloaded copies included. A protected file keeps its name and gains an s on its extension: report.pdf becomes report.pdfs.
Three products carry that idea today, and this site documents all three.
| Product | What it is | Where |
|---|---|---|
| SuperFile® | The register: examined @names and .extensions, recorded in waves with permanent registration numbers anyone can check. | superfile.com |
| SuperSecure® | Seal, share, see and unshare. The vault and viewer for SuperFiles, in beta. | beta.supersecure.com |
| SuperDRM™ | The key and licence service behind the viewer: Widevine, FairPlay and Clear Key licences at $0 per licence, hosted by us or on your premises. | superdrm.com |
The family page explains the other marks — SuperChain™, Zero Trust File Encryption™, Sup™ — and what is coming next.
#Which guide do I need?
- I want an @name or a .extension. Start with Quick start, then Names & extensions.
- I need to protect and share documents. Protect a file and Share, see & unshare.
- I am rolling SuperFile out to a team. Plans & tiers, then Sign in & accounts for how people sign in.
- I must run it inside my own network. Deployment overview and On-premises install.
- I am integrating DRM into my own player or packager. DRM quick start and the API reference.
- I have a security questionnaire. Security model, and request the audited reports on Trust & Security.
#Conventions
- Commands are shown for a POSIX shell.
sdrm_live_…stands for a real API key; never paste one into a browser. - Prices are in US dollars and quoted as they stand on the day of writing; the pricing page and the refund policy govern.
- Anything marked beta is live and in use, and may change between releases. The changelog records what changed.
